I grew up in a family of four children, two boys, and two girls within six years of each other. Both of our parents were physicians in the military, so we were raised as Navy brats living in six different places ranging from NYC to Guam. After applying to 18 colleges, I chose Miami of Ohio because when I visited, I fell in love with Mid-Western people. I met my husband, John, during my sophomore year at Miami. When he told me that he wasn’t available to date because he already had a girlfriend I said, “we’ll see about that!” I always loved math and considered being a math teacher but instead decided to go the finance route. Early in my senior year, I was fortunate to receive a job offer to join a training program at a bank in Cincinnati. After the training program, I moved directly into Wealth Management, the arena I’ve been working in ever since. I love the combination of analytical thinking and developing close relationships with clients. John and I married in 1992 and our sons, Nick and Mike were born during the next couple of years. In 2003 we were blessed with our precious daughter, Janie. We moved and started calling Charlotte home in 2008, never looking back. We absolutely love living in The Queen City.
In 2012 when PNC bought RBC in the US, I was recruited to join the PNC family. I work with an extraordinary group of people that make me feel fortunate every day to be part of our team. I’m currently a Senior Relationship Strategist in the Private Bank.
People who know me know that I’m an easy mark for a good cause. I quickly found roots in Charlotte by creating opportunities to engage with a wide variety of non-profit organizations. I’m currently on the Executive Committee of the Board of Discovery Place Museums as well as Bright Blessings, serving the homeless and transient children of our community. I’ve also had the wonderful opportunity to serve as a board member for the Greater Charlotte Cultural Trust, the Land Acquisition Committee of the Catawba Lands Conservancy, the Charlotte Chapter of the American Heart Association and Lifespan, serving the developmentally disabled. Since my children were very young, my family and I have dedicated family time to volunteering together. It makes me so proud to see my children continuing to serve their communities as adults.
Currently, our son, Nick, is in his second year at Rush University Medical School in Chicago. Our son Mike lives in the Wilmore area of Charlotte, working in sales for Snider Fleet Solutions, and Janie is a freshman at Wofford College.
For fun, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, as well as hiking, reading, sudoku, yoga, and organizing!
